Abraham Lincoln was born in February 12, 1809 in
Hodgenville in Kentucky, he was the son of Thomas and Nancy Hanks Lincoln, and
he got his name from his paternal Grandfather. Abraham Lincoln’s dad was a
carpenter and a farmer. As
Abraham Lincoln grown up, he loved to read and preferred to working in the fields.
This led to a bad relationship with his dad. Abraham was constantly borrowing
books from the neighbors.When he was a young man he worked at several jobs
including operating a store or serving as a postmaster. He impressed the residents with his character and earned the nickname "Honest
Abe”.
Abraham Lincoln’s family moved to southern Indiana in
1816. Lincoln’s school was limited to three brief periods in local schools,
because he had to work constantly to support his family. In 1830, his family
moved to Macon County in southern Illinois. Abraham Lincoln became USA´s 16th
president. He was the president below the civil war from 1861to 1865. Abraham
Lincoln got assassinated in Ford’s Theatre in Washington 14. April 1865, while
he saw “Our American Cousin”. He died
the day after because of his injuries. the murder was the Shakespeare actor
John Wilkes Booth. He became a lawyer in Illinois and a Whig party leader. Abraham
Lincoln had four children, Robert Todd Lincoln, Edward Baker Lincoln, Willie
Lincoln and Tad Lincoln, his wife’s name was Mary Todd. In 1860 when Abraham Lincoln was a presidential
candidate, he got interviewed by a journalist, about his childhood, he said that his family was poor and his father was a carpenter and a farmer and his father was a hard worker. Abrahams mother was 25 years old when she born him, Abrahams mother couldn't read or write but but she was naturally gifted.
